Today is National Albino Raccoon Day. A day in which people spread their love for the all the creatures in the world even if they’re as ugly and deplorable as an albino raccoon.

“The goal of National Albino Raccoon Day will be to support the causes of Albino Raccoons. We will primary accomplish this goal by people posting photos of themselves alongside various albino raccoons on social media platforms,” said Jeffrey Peters, president of the Raccoon Society of Los Angeles. “This in turn will severely impact albino raccoons all around the world.”

When asked how specifically this would help albino raccoons, Peters responded that no one really knows how social media does anything but it unequivocally does do something.

This year will mark the first celebrated National Raccoon Day and the editors at the Sunshine Herald have composed a list of all the other new National and International Days that will be first celebrated in the upcoming year.
